    The goal for the staff of Club Makos is for each swimmer to reach their top potential as a competitive athlete by following the steps of our program.  We strive to be the best competitive swim team in the country, always keeping the team's success in mind.  Our staff of professional coaches is qualified to match each athlete with an appropriate training group.  The following groups description only serve as a general reference for the groups.  For more information, please make an appointment with a member of coaching staff.

          PRE-BRONZE (AGE 4-8)

  •  6 months to 1 year in group
  •  Entry level swim team
  •  Instruction in all 4 competitive strokes/starts
  •  Flexibility, fun and comfort in the water

        BRONZE (AGE 6 - 10)

  •  1 - 3 years in group
  •  Variety of movement experiences in water and on land
  •  Instruction in all 4 competitive strokes, starts and turns
  •  Agility and general endurance and motor skills
  •  Flexibility
  •  Fun and comfort in the water

    SILVER (AGE 12)

     

  •  2 - 2 1/2 years in group
  •  Technique specialization/advanced technical skills
  •  Basic swimming endurance (aerobic capacity)
  •  Awareness of swimming speed (changing tempo)
  •  Improve conditional skills
  •  Develop general athletic skills in water and on land
  •  Competition over longer distances
  •  Develop general Athletic Skills in water and on land

    GOLD (AGE 11.5 - 16.5)

     

  •  2 - 3  years in group
  •  Technique specialization/ advanced technical skills
  •  Basic swimming speed
  •  Specific muscular endurance
  •  Swim specific endurance
  •  Develop basic swimming power
  •  Advanced racing tactics
  •  General athlete specialization (testing)
  •  Optimized athlete preparation and progression
  •  Integration of specific dry land exercises /flexibility

    SENIOR (AGE 13 and Up)

     

  •  1 -15  years in group
  •  Advanced Techniques
  •  Anaerobic capacity
  •  Maximum Strength
  •  Race specific endurance
  •  High aerobic capacity
  •  Race Stimulation
  •  Comprehensive athlete specialization (testing)
  •  Optimized athlete preparation and progression
  •  Wide range of general and specific dry land training activities, including weight room training
