CHAD CAGE NEW TENNIS DIRECTOR
|
for tennis, strength, conditioning and movement at Tampa's esteemed
Saddlebrook Resort and has locally interned at the Andrews Institute in
Gulf Breeze.
Being involved with teaching the sport in some capacity for several
years has allowed Cage to feel more relaxed with a larger crowd
than one with less experience.
Rather than a test or challenge, this weekend's event is "more like an
opportunity to meet everybody
I plan to delve into it and see what the area's talent has got it
should be three days of good tennis," said Cage, who also is a
certified health fitness instructor by the American College of Sports
Medicine. "It will have a lot of teams from Gulf Breeze, Pensacola
and Navarre, and we have a team from Dothan, Ala. coming down, so it
should be exciting."
He's also got the seal of approval from the people in charge at The
Club.
"The owners, Chuck and Penny Emling are avid tennis fans, so
they're very, very supportive already," Cage said. "I'm looking
forward to programs I can put into place. I hope to continue strong
junior and adult clinics, and also, with the footwork and the agility
training that I have, I want to add that to the tennis lessons. I want
to add that to improving their health as well as their tennis skills."
